It with great pleasure that we have joined the xShare project as an associate partner.
The xShare project represents a critical step forward in realising the vision of the European Health Data Space (EHDS), establishing a common framework for the cross-border exchange of patient health information. This initiative is focused on building the foundational infrastructure to allow clinicians across the EU to access key medical data securely, such as laboratory results, medical imaging reports and hospital discharge letters, for the direct benefit of patient care. By creating harmonised technical specifications and governance, xShare is laying the groundwork to ensure that crucial health data can flow seamlessly and safely between member states, supporting continuity of care for citizens wherever they are in Europe.
At openEHR International, we provide the clinical data modelling expertise to ensure the information being exchanged is both detailed and meaningful. Through our vendor-neutral, clinician-led archetypes and templates, openEHR defines the precise structure and content of the shared health data, guaranteeing true semantic interoperability. This approach ensures that a lab result or diagnosis is understood consistently and without ambiguity, regardless of the country or system it originated from.
Onwards and upwards!
