EHRCON26 – key deadline: May 31

The countdown to EHRCON26 is officially underway, and with the conference fast approaching, one important deadline is now just around the corner.

Taking place at the Meervaart Theatre on 22–23 September 2026, this year’s event will bring together clinicians, developers, researchers, policymakers, and digital health leaders from across the global openEHR community. Early Bird registration ends 31 May

Early bird registration for EHRCON26 remains open until 31 May 2026, offering attendees the opportunity to secure reduced-rate access to the full conference experience.

Full conference passes include access to all conference sessions, refreshments, lunches, the conference dinner on 22 September, and pre-conference networking drinks on 21 September. Day delegate passes are also available for those unable to attend the full programme.

This year’s event promises a packed agenda focused on the future of digital health, interoperability, clinical data standards, and the evolving role of AI within healthcare systems.

Clinical modelling workshop returns

Ahead of the main conference programme, attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in the EHRCON26 Clinical Modelling Workshop, taking place from 9:00–12:00 on 21 September.

Designed for professionals looking to strengthen their practical modelling skills, the workshop will provide hands-on learning opportunities alongside guidance from industry experts. Participants will also receive an openEHR clinical modelling certificate, as well as additional CPD points from The Federation for Informatics Professionals.

The workshop continues to be one of the most valuable practical learning opportunities associated with the conference, particularly for clinicians, informaticians, and implementation teams working directly with openEHR specifications and clinical models.

Discounted and student places available

EHRCON26 is also offering a limited number of discounted tickets for public health system staff, alongside free student places for individuals willing to support conference activities during the event.

These opportunities are intended to improve accessibility and broaden participation from across healthcare, academia, and digital transformation programmes.

Final call for speakers

Speaker submissions for EHRCON26 also remain open until 31 May 2026, with organisers aiming to accommodate as many high-quality contributions as possible.

This year, the conference is particularly interested in presentations exploring:

  • Collaboration between interoperability and terminology standards, including Health Level Seven International, SNOMED International, and OHDSI
  • The European Health Data Space (EHDS)
  • Sustainability and sovereignty of healthcare data
  • Emerging applications of agentic AI in healthcare

Preference will be given to openEHR members, making this an ideal opportunity for community contributors and innovators to share practical insights, research, and implementation experiences with an international audience.
