openEHR News | May 1, 2020, 3:51 p.m.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of a new director.

Rachel Dunscombe has joined the openEHR International Board and brings a wealth of experience within digital health education, and is an advocate for EHR usability and best practice both in the UK and globally. She believes that improvements to patient care and efficient working practices for health professionals can be made with safe, accessible digital health.

Rachel said “I am delighted to be joining the openEHR International board and continuing the work to develop open standards for healthcare data. This is the fundamental building block for the future of AI, health and care and the global standards represented by openEHR International provide a common future-proofed standard.”

Rachel is NCA Director of Digital at Salford University, works as a research lead for KLAS Global Arch Collaborative, is part-time CEO at NHS Digital Academy (Imperial College, Harvard Medical School and Edinburgh University) and part time CTO at Visionable.

She has a passion for improving health and care, and we very much look forward to her being part of the Board where her knowledge, experience and passion will bring much to the continued growth of openEHR.
