openEHR Foundation are delighted to become an Associate Partner of HiGHmed.

The HiGHmed project aims to develop and use innovative information infrastructures to increase the efficiency of clinical research and to swiftly translate research results into validated improvements of patient care.

This aim is tightly connected with challenges to integrate and further develop solutions of innovative, internationally interoperable data integration and methods, with the aim to demonstrate their added value for health research and patient care.

The project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) under the “Medical Informatics” funding scheme and HiGHmed will receive funding to create integrative data centers to promote data exchange and use for enhanced patient-centred therapies.

This is a great success for the HiGHmed team based in Heidelberg, Göttingen and Hannover.  Together with its partners, the team will use cutting edge information technologies for distinctive use cases in the fields of oncology, cardiology and infection control. The aim will be to fight pathogen outbreaks in hospitals and to treat cancer and cardiovascular diseases through more effective and individualised treatments.
