The objective of the in-depth workshop, which was held on 27 November, was to present state-of-the-art implementation technologies in health care. Attendees learned about the cutting-edge EHR system and software technology and gained a better understanding of the technical background to openEHR.

GCC eHealth Workforce Development Conference (eHWDC 2018) in Abu Dhabi, 27-29 November 2018, provided a discussion forum for Government Policy-makers and Strategists, Healthcare Service Providers, and eHealth Solutions & Service Providers, as well as workshops and training sessions for medical and IT professionals.

The workshop was facilitated by Miroslav Končar, Marand Business Development Director, and Andraž Koželj, Software Development Lead, and discussed openEHR design principles and modeling techniques, which lead into well-founded knowledge governance structures, semantic interoperability, and efficient application design. For this purpose, the workshop also included a practical implementation of a simple case demonstrating the benefits of the openEHR approach through building a simple application in no more than 1 hour.

The workshop was directed at CIOs, healthcare IT professionals, clinicians, informaticians and system implementers who are interested in the technical aspects of openEHR methodologies and future directions.
