SUMMARY:openEHR & HL7: Converge or Collide?
DESCRIPTION:On June 2nd and 3rd 2025\, members from openEHR and HL7 communities who have been working on both FHIR and openEHR will come together for an exclusive event in Amsterdam. \n  \nThe sessions will advance discussions on how the two communities can work together to improve healthcare data exchange across the globe. \nThe event will be interactive and action-oriented\, to look at the common areas of collaboration and in view of this\, will be limited to 50 places including those who are already part of the formal working groups. \nIf you’re already working on both openEHR and FHIR and you can be part of this collaborative effort to shape the global healthcare standards landscape\, please register your interest detailing the value you can bring to this unprecedented event. In your registration\, please explain why you should attend – what you have to contribute. Places are limited\, so please express your interest here. \nThere will be a notional charge to help the organisers cover costs\, however this will be kept to a minimum. We understand that there will be a lot of interest and in view of the limited numbers\, a debrief on progress will be provided at the FHIR Dev days\, where those who are unable to attend can catch up on the progress.

SUMMARY:Delivery\, Not Hype: How to Harmonise FHIR × openEHR × OMOP in practice
DESCRIPTION:A Health Futures Collective Series – powered by Evidentli\, Fuzzy\, openEHR\, Professional Development and Summer Programmes\, Institute of Extended Learning at Imperial College\n\n—-\n\nMany argue that the future success of digital health and AI will be won – or lost – on data. For decades\, the promise of open standards has collided with fragmented\, messy systems.\n\nFor the first time\, the pioneers behind FHIR\, openEHR and OMOP have aligned their visions\, clarified how the standards fit together\, and set out a roadmap for scaling responsibly and sustainably. Their joint statement in JMIR marked a turning point. This live session focuses on how to make it work in practice.\n\nConfirmed panellists\n\nGrahame Grieve — Inventor of FHIR\nRachel Dunscombe — CEO\, openEHR Foundation\nDavera Gabriel — Chair\, FHIR–OMOP Working Group\nGuy Tsafnat — Expert in real-world data & AI\n\nModerator\n\nRam Rajaraman — Healthcare & Life Sciences Lead\, Quantexa\n\nWhy attend\nIf you shape\, design and or deliver the systems\, policies\, products and services in healthcare and pharma\, then this session is not optional. These standards are the rails on which future health innovation will run. What you learn here will inform the next decade of health data\, AI adoption\, and patient safety.\n\nWhat we’ll cover\n\nThe practical realities of implementing FAIR health data at scale\nLessons from supporting health systems worldwide\nHow to navigate and harmonise between standards in practice\nWhat leaders and policymakers must do now to avoid fragmentation\n\nDate & time (multiple time zones):\n\nLondon (BST): Mon 29 Sept\, 13:00–14:00\nBerlin/Paris (CEST): 14:00–15:00\nBeijing/Shanghai/Singapore/Perth (UTC+8): 20:00–21:00\nSydney/Melbourne/Brisbane (AEST): 22:00–23:00\n\nFormat: Online panel\n\nReserve your place now – RSVP alexander.barclay@imperial.ac.uk \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCan’t make it live in your time zone?\nRegister anyway to get the replay sent to you via email after the event.\n\nAbout the series\nThis is the first in Delivery\, Not Hype – a sequence of how-to conversations for senior practitioners across health\, technology\, design and policy. The series is brought to you by the Health Futures Collective Series – a group of like-minded organisations including Evidentli\, Fuzzy\, openEHR\, and Professional Development and Summer Programmes\, Institute of Extended Learning at Imperial College). Upcoming sessions: responsible AI\, robotics & automation\, designing for trust\, federated data\, and policy levers for adoption. \n\nEach talk is led by people who have actually delivered innovation at scale – not theorists\, but operators who have navigated real-world constraints and got things done.
